In a bustling shopping district, an old carriage house set back from the street provides an exciting opportunity for an unexpected courtyard garden. A chromatic study of shades of green mimic the dappled light conditions created by the leafy canopies of a pair of olive and elm trees. The elements of color, form, texture and scale in the plantings and hardscape are explored as a graphic homage to the vibrancy of the natural California desert.
