Children’s Institute, a family center in the heart of Watts, nourishes and supports the strong surrounding community and celebrates long standing neighborhood partnerships with LAPD and the 40 year old Gang Task Force. In its warmth and vibrancy, the landscape of the entry courtyard welcomes staff and visitors with a large space for playful social gathering.
A lush secret garden at the building’s perimeter provides a protected environment that filters out the busy urban context. Embedded within the shady secret garden are spaces for personal reflection and therapeutic discussion.
